❝Pool looks great❞
★★★★★ - "We are 1st time pool owners and have no experience in maintaining them. Alan and his wife Cat, were recommended to us. They went over everything about our pool from where our filter and pump are located, the age and condition of the pool and equipment, and when we can expect to have to replace things. They discussed the services they provide and what the cost would be. Their rate is reasonable to me. They are easy to talk to, and being in a service profession myself, I find that to be important. We've been using them for a few months now, my pool looks great all the time. Highly recommend. "

Is Water Loss Normal in a Pool?
Evaporation naturally causes water loss in a swimming pool or spa. You might see as much as two inches of water loss in a week. However, if you find that your pool is losing more than 1/4 inch per day or more than 2 inches of water per week, there may be a leak. The first step is to call Preferred Pools to inspect it. Your pool technician will inspect the plumbing and components using a thermal camera to locate any leaks and provide a quote for repairs.
Signs of a Pool Leak
Although it's normal to lose a little water every day (and more if the kids have been practicing dives), more than 1/4 inch of loss per day is a warning sign that something is wrong.
- There are some telltale signs of a pool leak that should prompt you to call a pool professional:
- Unexpected water level drops
- Higher water bills
- Standing puddles near the pool
- Repeatedly unbalanced chemical levels
- Discolored water
Do Slow Pool Leaks Need to Be Repaired?
Even small leaks in a pool or hot tub will result in further damage to the structures and expensive water bills. Small leaks if not repaired become large leaks. Most often, leaks occur around the skimmer. Other common causes of pool leaks include punctures or structural damage in the shell or plumbing issues such as a broken pipe or a loose fitting, such as around grab bars or tiles. Preferred Pools will provide a fair quote for parts and labor required to repair your pool leak. Repairing your leak quickly will save money in the long run in water loss and the prevention of further deterioration of your pool system.
Preferred Pools's Leak Repair Service
Are pool leaks expensive to fix? We get that question a lot, and you may be surprised at how inexpensively your pool leak can be repaired. Once the source and problem are detected, Preferred Pools will provide a competitive quote to repair the leak and prevent further breaches. The cost of not repairing a pool leak far outweighs the repair cost!
Preferred Pools's team is often called to fix cracks in a pool's concrete. This is often caused when the soil settles or the ground shifts. Depending on the size and scope of your crack, Preferred Pools may repair it with silicone. It is possible that a replacement of your skimmer is necessary to repair a leak in that area.
Silicone is often used to repair leaks around fittings near lights, jets, or face plates. Main drain leaks are often more complicated and often require replacement. Preferred Pools will provide details of the source of your leak and the most economical solution to repair it and get you enjoying your pool again.
